More about this event

Please note that this workshop takes place 28 Feb – 1 Mar 2019.

With support from “bookable” experts, this two day workshop will help you to develop existing trial ideas.  Participants will work towards producing clinical trial documentation for submission to the next CTRad clinical trial meeting, and will develop a step-by-step programme of work needed to deliver the final trial funding application.  The range of experts will include PBT planning (physics), clinical site leads, RTTQA, statistics, methodological, health economics, trials units, PPI, and funding.

The programme will start with an introductory session including introductions to the clinical site leads from Manchester and UCLH, PBT treatment planning, with examples, demonstrating how it differs from photon planning, the use of image guidance, the planning of the TORPEDO Trial, and proton therapy treatment with a radiographer’s perspective. In the afternoon the meeting will split into disease-specific break out group to discuss and develop ideas.  Each group will be supported by medical physicists, radiographers and clinical site leads from The Christie and UCLH, with the option to book sessions with the other experts listed above.

The second day will start with presentations from each trial, to gain feedback from the wider group, followed by a further development session.  The workshop will conclude with an optional tour of the Proton Therapy Centre
